Nuvei Review
Is It the Right Payment Solution for Your iGaming Business?
Strong
DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM process through Nuvei, which is the shortest way to say what this profile takes six sections to detail: the top of US regulated betting runs its money through this platform. The product is five lines under one API, gateway, direct acquiring Nuvei puts at 52 markets, AI-driven orchestration, real-time payouts and risk management, wrapped in 720+ payment methods, the broadest single-contract coverage in this catalog. Montreal-headquartered with 2,700+ employees, taken private by Advent International for $6.3B in November 2024, and busy in 2026: Mastercard named Nuvei among the first acquirers for its new stablecoin settlement option in June, and the same month Nuvei signed a definitive agreement to acquire Payoneer for roughly $2.75 billion, closing expected mid-2027. The costs are enterprise-tier to match, with a $500k monthly minimum and a 5-10% rolling reserve held six months, and the ledger has honest blemishes: custom pricing that only surfaces in quotes, a June 2026 Bank of Lithuania AML fine of €90,000 on the EEA entity, and a 3.7/5 Trustpilot from 836 reviews. It still tops the capability table, first of 77, because the things it does well are the ones hardest to find elsewhere.
What operators ask about Nuvei
Is Nuvei legit for iGaming?
Yes, with the widest regulatory stack in the catalog: PCI Level 1, FCA EMI (UK), a Lithuanian EMI for the EEA and US state gambling approvals, with operator-side support across MGA, UKGC and Isle of Man. One blemish worth knowing: Bank of Lithuania AML warnings in 2023 and 2026, the latter a 90K euro fine on the EEA entity.

We score each provider on 5 weighted criteria using a 1 to 10 scale. iGaming Fit carries the most weight at 30% because that is what matters most for gambling operators. Geographic Coverage gets 22%. Security & Compliance gets 20%. Fees & Pricing gets 16%. Tech & Integration gets 12%. The final score is a weighted average of those 5. Trustpilot is shown for context but carries no weight, since player reviews of casinos are not a read on B2B acquiring quality.
Score Explanation
iGaming Fit scores 10/10, and since July 2026 it stands on different inputs than it used to. The six-connector list this profile carried did not survive an evidence check, and the tier gate was rebuilt so connector marketing cannot prop up a score at all: Core status now requires a named iGaming team plus either an evidence-confirmed platform connector or a large owned gambling-acquiring book. Nuvei clears it through the book, 18 markets of direct acquiring, plus a dedicated gambling team and a client list that includes DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM. Geographic Coverage ties iGaming Fit at the top, and it rests on direct local acquiring rather than aggregated reach, which is why the approval-rate pitch holds up better here than at gateway-only competitors: 52 markets on Nuvei's count against 18 that are nameable. Security reflects the licensing Nuvei holds in its own name: the FCA EMI in the UK, register-confirmed state gaming vendor registrations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan, West Virginia, Colorado and Indiana, Romania's ONJN Class II payment-processor license and Peru's MINCETUR registrations, with AI fraud tools and automated KYC. The MGA, UKGC and Isle of Man credentials on its client roster belong to the operators, not to Nuvei, and carry no weight in this dimension. One entry cuts against it, since the Bank of Lithuania warned UAB Nuvei twice and fined it €90,000 in June 2026 for customer due-diligence failures, worth asking about in procurement even though the license stands. Tech scores near the top on the strength of Excellent documentation with Postman collections and orchestration that competitors sell as a separate product. User Trust sits mid-table at 3.7/5 from 836 reviews, 65% five-star, a normal profile for an enterprise PSP whose reviewers skew smaller merchants. The weak spot is Fees. The 1.5-3.5% deposit range sounds moderate on paper, but once you add the 5-10% rolling reserve locked for half a year, the real cost picture changes. AstroPay charges 1-2.5% with only a 3-month hold, which reframes how the headline deposit rate compares.
Who Is Nuvei Best For?
The operator profiles that fit, and the ones that do not
Recommended For
- Large multi-market operators. Above $500k a month across multiple regulated jurisdictions is the profile this is priced for. Nuvei holds US state gambling payment approvals and serves MGA-, UKGC- and Isle of Man-licensed operators at the same time, and the local acquiring book, 52 markets by its own count, routes transactions domestically wherever it can. That is what lifts approval rates: no cross-border routing penalty.
- US-regulated sportsbooks. Very few PSPs carry US state gambling approvals alongside European regulators, and DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM all chose Nuvei for exactly that. If regulated US markets are on the roadmap, the shortlist is short enough to count on one hand.
- Platform-agnostic teams. Integrating against the API directly rather than through a casino-platform connector is the realistic path here, because not one pre-built Nuvei connector exists at any major iGaming platform: SoftSwiss's payment-partner list omits it, and nothing turns up at Slotegrator, Bragg, Altenar or BetConstruct. What is on the record is an EveryMatrix payments agreement for the US (2021) and a Gaming Innovation Group tie-up (2025). Excellent documentation makes the direct build reasonable.
- All-in-one PSP seekers. Tired of juggling separate gateway, acquiring, payout and risk vendors? All five sit under one contract and one integration. Paysafe bundles similarly but covers 260+ methods against 720+.
Not Recommended For
- Operators under the $500k floor. The minimum is $500k a month with custom pricing and 2-4 weeks of onboarding, so anything below that volume is out before the conversation starts. AstroPay accepts from $100k and NOWPayments has no floor at all. Operators growing toward $500k hit a gap where they need this capability and cannot yet buy it.
- Instant settlement needs. Settlement runs T+2 to T+7, the slowest band here. Brite settles same-day, Trustly next-day, AstroPay T+1 to T+2. Where cash-flow timing is the constraint, Nuvei creates the constraint rather than solving it.
- Budget-conscious operators. Counting basis points gets you nowhere without a rate card, and there is none. The 5-10% rolling reserve locks capital for six months on top, where NOWPayments runs a flat 0.5-1% visible upfront. Two different pricing philosophies, and only one of them can be modelled before a sales call.
- Simple single-market setups. Where 90% of traffic comes from one region, a specialist goes deeper for less. AstroPay and PayRetailers beat Nuvei on LATAM local methods, Trustly beats it on European open banking at 0-1%. An enterprise platform is overkill for a single-market book.

Coverage Analysis
Nuvei publishes local acquiring in 52 markets across Europe, LATAM, North America and Asia-Pacific, without naming them; the 18 that can be named sit in Europe and the Americas. The standout is US state licensing for regulated sports betting, which very few iGaming PSPs offer. AstroPay and PayRetailers go deeper on LATAM local methods like PIX and OXXO. Trustly dominates European open banking. But for operators who need three or four regions under one roof, nothing else matches this geographic breadth. Nuvei also serves Isle of Man-licensed operators, which extends the offshore side.
Regional Breakdown
European coverage is the deepest. Full acquiring in the UK, Germany, Nordics, Malta, Spain and more, serving operators licensed by the UKGC and the MGA. Local card acquiring in each market keeps approval rates high. North America is where Nuvei stands apart from most competitors. US state gambling licenses let you run DraftKings-style sportsbook operations. Canada is covered natively through the Montreal headquarters. LATAM has local acquiring in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina, but this is where specialists outperform. AstroPay connects 50+ local methods with player-side brand recognition, and PayRetailers does 300+ through direct acquiring with deeper cash network integration (PIX, OXXO, Boleto). If LATAM is your primary market you probably want one of those alongside or instead of Nuvei. Asia-Pacific covers Japan, India and Southeast Asia with local acquiring, which is solid breadth even though regional specialists go deeper in individual markets. Africa is basic: South Africa and Nigeria only. The pattern most large operators follow is using Nuvei as the backbone for multi-region coverage and adding regional specialists where maximum depth matters.

Key Features for iGaming Operators
Products, payment methods, and verticals
Key Products
Gateway, Acquiring, Orchestration, Payouts, Risk Management
Five product lines under one API. Gateway accepts payments across 720+ methods. Acquiring does direct card processing in 52 markets by Nuvei's count. Orchestration routes transactions through optimal paths using AI. Payouts handle real-time and batch disbursements (OCT limit: €50k per transaction; Visa caps at $50k per card per day). Risk Management covers fraud screening, 3D Secure and chargeback mitigation. Operators integrate once and access all five.
Payment Methods
720+ methods covering cards, wallets, bank transfers, vouchers, open banking and crypto on/off-ramp. Worldpay offers about 300+, Paysafe 260+, PayRetailers 300+. Raw numbers favor Nuvei by a wide margin. Where that breaks down: PayRetailers connects more local methods in specific LATAM markets, and Trustly has deeper European bank coverage for open banking. Nuvei's real strength is doing everything adequately to well across all regions through a single integration. If you need cards in Europe, local methods in LATAM, open banking in Nordics and crypto globally, one Nuvei contract covers it. Nuvei's Simplex subsidiary, Nuvei Liquidity UAB, received an EU CASP license under MiCAR from the Bank of Lithuania in December 2025, strengthening the group's crypto compliance position; the license sits in that entity, not in Nuvei broadly or its group EMI. Building that same coverage from specialists means four or five separate integrations.
Verticals
iGaming first, everything else second. Forex, crypto, eCommerce and retail get support but the dedicated gambling team and jurisdiction-specific compliance tools leave no doubt about where the product roadmap points.

Pricing Details
All custom. Deposits 1.5-3.5%, withdrawals 1-2.5%, no published rate card. The range is wide because Nuvei prices by payment method, geography and volume. Card transactions in mature European markets cost less than local methods in emerging ones. Rolling reserve sits at 5-10% held for 6 months. On $1M monthly volume that is $50-100k withheld each month, so $300-600k sits locked up at all times. Still lighter than Worldpay (8-15% for 6 months) or Paysafe (7-12% for 6 months). FX markup runs 0.5-1.5%, which is actually the tightest range among enterprise PSPs in the iGaming space. Setup is often waived for large operators, otherwise $0-5k. A realistic TCO for $1M/month across European cards, LATAM local methods and US sportsbook: $20,000-$40,000 monthly before the reserve capital impact. For perspective, AstroPay charges 1-2.5% for LATAM specifically with a 3-month reserve, a tighter capital hold than Nuvei's 6-month reserve.
Negotiation Tips
Compete the deal. Get quotes from Paysafe and Worldpay before sitting down with Nuvei. Ask for method-specific rate cards instead of blended pricing, because card rates should be below 2% for European processing while LATAM local methods will cost more. Volume tiers at $750k and $1.5M thresholds unlock meaningful rate reductions. The rolling reserve is negotiable: push for 5% with a 90-day hold if your chargeback history is clean. FX spread at 0.5-1.5% is already competitive for this tier, but try to anchor at the lower end during negotiations.

Settlement optionsDeposits are instant, and the payout side is a genuine strength: real-time withdrawals run through Visa Direct and Mastercard Send push-to-card globally, with OCT limits of €50k per transaction and a Visa cap of $50k per card per day, numbers that comfortably clear even VIP cashout sizes. That leaves operator settlement as the slow leg at T+2 to T+7, the widest range among iGaming PSPs, where the actual landing point depends on volume, method mix and negotiation. Brite settles same-day, Trustly next-day, AstroPay T+1 to T+2, Inpay instant to T+1, and Worldpay matches Nuvei's range. The June 2026 Mastercard stablecoin settlement announcement is aimed at exactly this gap, promising intraday and weekend cycles once live, but it is announced capability rather than a shipping product, so plan treasury on the card-rail timings. Refunds take 3-5 business days, slower than AstroPay at 1-3 days or Brite and Trustly which process refunds instantly. Settlement timing is negotiable at higher volumes.

Single API with SDK for iOS, Android and React Native. AI routing picks optimal processing paths per transaction automatically. Full sandbox environment. Documentation rated Excellent: Postman collections, multi-language code samples, clear endpoint descriptions. Integration takes 2-4 weeks of direct API work. A note on the widely-copied claim of six pre-built iGaming platform connectors: none of them exists. SoftSwiss's published payment-partner list does not include Nuvei, and no Slotegrator, Bragg, Altenar or BetConstruct trail exists. The documented platform partnerships are EveryMatrix (US payments agreement, 2021) and GiG (2025). Real-time dashboard with ISO 20022 auto-reconciliation. Compliance Context
PCI Level 1 vault with tokenization and recurring payment support. The US state picture is confirmed but not uniform, and the detail matters in procurement: our July 2026 register sweep found Nuvei Technologies Inc. registered in Pennsylvania with a renewal application pending, and Nuvei US LLC (the ex-Mazooma entity, still carrying the Mazooma trade name on the New Jersey register) holding a Pennsylvania authorization classified as publicly traded twenty months after Advent took the company private, with its Colorado vendor license surrendered while the Nuvei Technologies Colorado registration stays approved. None of that blocks processing; all of it is the kind of thing a state regulator asks about. FCA-authorized EMI (UK) with a Lithuanian EMI for EEA passporting and US state gambling payment approvals; the MGA, UKGC and Isle of Man licenses sit with the operators Nuvei serves. AI fraud prevention handles 3D Secure and chargeback mitigation. KYC/AML runs fully automated and embedded in the payment flow. Chargeback liability lands on the merchant side but is negotiable down to 0.8%, which is better than most enterprise PSPs offer. UKGC operators get the full compliance package including responsible gaming integration. MGA operators benefit from Isle of Man cross-recognition for offshore jurisdictions.
Regulatory Position
PCI DSS Level 1. FCA EMI (UK), Lithuanian EMI UAB Nuvei (LB001894, EEA-passported), US state gambling payment approvals; supports operators licensed under MGA, UKGC and Isle of Man. One enforcement entry: the Bank of Lithuania issued UAB Nuvei AML/CTF warnings in June 2023 and June 2026, the latter with a €90,000 fine for customer due-diligence failures. AI fraud prevention with 3D Secure. Fully automated KYC/AML embedded in payment flows. Self-exclusion API and deposit limits for responsible gaming. Chargeback liability negotiable to 0.8%. On the US side, the gaming registrations check out across PA, NJ, MI, WV, CO and IN on two entities, Nuvei Technologies Inc. and Nuvei US LLC (which the NJ register still carries under the trade name 'Mazooma'); the widely quoted '48 states + DC + PR' licensing figure comes from the 2023 annual filing, the last public one before the Advent take-private (SEC Form 25-NSE, November 2024), so treat it as frozen in time rather than current.

Company History
Founded in 2003 in Montreal when high-risk payment processing was becoming its own category. Online gambling needed acquirers willing to underwrite the risk, and most banks wouldn't touch it. Nuvei built that capability early. Focusing on verticals that mainstream banks avoided turned out to be a growth strategy, not just a niche.
The company went public on TSX in 2020. Peak market cap reached approximately $20 billion in September 2021. That capital went into aggressive expansion: buying local payment providers across markets, building out the 720+ method library, hiring dedicated iGaming teams in multiple jurisdictions. In November 2024, Nuvei was taken private by Advent International in a $6.3 billion deal.
Current state: 2,700+ employees, privately held by Advent International since November 2024, still headquartered in Montreal. DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM headline the client roster. The infrastructure built during the public growth phase is what current clients benefit from. The iGaming product roadmap continues to get priority over other verticals.
Two June 2026 moves are worth tracking. On June 3, Mastercard named Nuvei among the first acquirers to support its new stablecoin settlement option (USDC and five other coins across eight chains, starting in the US and Latin America), which makes Nuvei the first gambling-capable acquirer with network-level stablecoin settlement on the roadmap; Mastercard's wording is 'expected to be among the first,' so treat it as announced capability, not live production. On June 15, Nuvei signed a definitive agreement to acquire Payoneer for roughly $2.75 billion in cash. Closing is expected mid-2027 pending shareholder and regulatory approvals, so until then the two companies operate separately and nothing changes at the cashier.
What Users Say About Nuvei
Our analysis of 836 reviews from Trustpilot and industry sources
Remaining 15% are 2-4 star reviews. Trustpilot does not publish a programmatic breakdown for intermediate ratings, so we report only the verified 5★ and 1★ shares.
Review Analysis
3.7/5 from 836 Trustpilot reviews, split 65% five-star against 20% one-star, which is the healthiest distribution among the tier-1 iGaming acquirers even though the average lands mid-table. AstroPay leads at 4.3/5 from 9,591 reviews, Worldpay sits at 4.3/5 from 10,144, Paysafe trails at 1.3/5. Positive Nuvei reviews mention platform breadth and integration quality; the one-star fifth clusters on customer service response times, holds during risk reviews, and pricing that reviewers felt they discovered rather than agreed to, which follows from Nuvei publishing no rate card at all. The 836-review sample is modest for a company processing at this scale, and that is itself informative: most of Nuvei's volume comes from enterprise merchants who resolve disputes through account managers rather than review platforms.
Context for Operators
Enterprise PSP reviews come from a different population than consumer wallet reviews. The operators using Nuvei have dedicated account managers and enterprise support tiers, so the Trustpilot base skews toward smaller merchants outside that service envelope, and their complaints about responsiveness say little about what a $500k+/month gambling operator experiences. The better B2B evidence points the other way: DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM run their processing here and have every alternative available to them. Treat the 3.7 as a floor reading from the unmanaged tier, not a verdict on the enterprise product.
Named iGaming Clients
DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, 888, Hard Rock Bet, Betsson, Delaware North, Carousel Group, PrizePicks, Resorts Digital Gaming, theScore Bet, Desert Diamond Casino
DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM. DraftKings and FanDuel dominate US sports betting. BetMGM is a major US sportsbook backed by MGM Resorts. Getting all three to use your payment platform is validation that no Trustpilot rating can replicate. Paysafe has 888 and PokerStars, also strong, but Nuvei's client list sits at the very top of the volume pyramid.

Enterprise terms, and they are not negotiable at the edges: $500k a month minimum, a 12-month lock-in, custom pricing with no rate card, and 2-4 weeks of onboarding before a line of code matters. Two numbers decide whether the economics work. The first is the rolling reserve at 5-10% held for six months, which on $1M a month means $300-600k sitting locked at all times, lighter than Worldpay at 8-15% or Paysafe at 7-12% but heavier than AstroPay's three-month hold. The second is settlement at T+2 to T+7, the widest band of any PSP here, which on the same volume floats roughly $165k you cannot deploy. Both are negotiable with clean chargeback history: push for 5% at 90 days and anchor the FX spread at the low end of 0.5-1.5%. What you get for it is a dedicated iGaming team rather than a ticket queue, ISO 20022 auto-reconciliation, and payout limits (EUR 50k per OCT, Visa capped at $50k per card per day) that clear VIP cashouts without an exception process. Advent International has owned the company outright since November 2024, and the Payoneer acquisition signed in June 2026 does not close until mid-2027, so nothing changes at the cashier before then.
Frequently Asked Questions
7 questions about Nuvei
Player-facing withdrawals support real-time for compatible methods. Settlement to your operator account is a different story: T+2 to T+7, longer than any competing PSP. Brite does T+0, AstroPay T+1 to T+2. Higher volumes give you leverage to negotiate the settlement timeline down. Refunds run 3-5 business days.
Nuvei publishes domestic acquiring in 52 markets across Europe, LATAM, North America and Asia-Pacific; 18 of them can be named, in Europe and the Americas. The differentiator is US state gambling licenses, which most iGaming PSPs can't offer. For maximum LATAM local method depth, pair with AstroPay or PayRetailers. European open banking costs less through Trustly at 0-1%. Nuvei's value is covering all these regions adequately through one contract.
2-4 weeks for a standard integration, and plan for direct API work whatever platform you run: not one pre-built Nuvei connector exists at SoftSwiss, Slotegrator, Bragg, Altenar or BetConstruct, despite the claim circulating widely. Full sandbox, Excellent documentation with Postman collections, mobile SDK for iOS/Android/React Native. AstroPay integrates faster at 1-2 weeks.
Both score 10.0 on iGaming Fit, and both earn it without connector marketing: Nuvei through its 18-market owned acquiring book, Paysafe through wallet-brand connectors that actually appear in platform catalogs. Overall capability runs 8.7 to 8.5 in Nuvei's favor. Nuvei has 720+ methods. Paysafe has 260+, but the Skrill/Neteller ecosystem brings a captive wallet audience (7.8M active wallet users at Paysafe) that Nuvei simply cannot match. Rolling reserves are similar in duration (6 months) but Paysafe takes a bigger cut at 7-12%. Paysafe also charges $500-1500/month in maintenance. Your choice depends on whether method breadth or wallet user base matters more.
That is the pitch: gateway, acquiring, orchestration, payouts and risk under one roof. And for multi-region operators it works. But most operators running Nuvei still add specialists. AstroPay for deeper LATAM wallet coverage. Trustly for European open banking at 0-1%. NOWPayments for 350+ crypto coins. Nuvei handles the backbone well. Specialists handle edges better.
Sometimes. Operators with strong growth trajectories can get approved at lower thresholds. But the pricing structure is built for volume. Under $500k/month, your per-transaction rate goes up and you lose negotiating leverage on rolling reserve and FX terms. At that scale AstroPay ($100k min) or NOWPayments (no minimum) offer better unit economics.
Peak market cap reached approximately $20B in September 2021 during the fintech boom. In November 2024, Advent International took Nuvei private in a $6.3B deal. What hasn't changed: the infrastructure and team built during the public growth phase. 2,700+ employees, 52 acquiring markets by Nuvei's count, the DraftKings/FanDuel/BetMGM relationships. The investment already happened. Current clients get the benefit at current prices.
Our Verdict: Should You Use Nuvei?
Final assessment for iGaming operators
Overall iGaming Score
Summary
The enterprise iGaming PSP and the highest-scoring provider in the catalog, and the score stands on audited inputs: the six-connector claim this profile once carried did not survive checking, the tier gate no longer lets connector marketing feed a score, and Nuvei still tops the table through its 18-market owned acquiring book. Perfect iGaming Fit, global Geographic Coverage and a Security stack built on licenses Nuvei holds itself (FCA EMI, six US state gaming registers, ONJN, MINCETUR) reflect the broadest capability set here: 720+ methods, 52 acquiring markets on Nuvei's count, AI routing. Fees are the reminder that enterprise capability comes at enterprise prices: the 1.5-3.5% deposit range plus 5-10% reserve for six months is the trade-off. If you have the volume, Nuvei does everything. Whether you need everything is the harder question.
Strongest Point
Scale that nobody else matches in a single package. 720+ methods across the 52 markets Nuvei publishes, AI routing, and a client roster headlined by DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM. Paysafe is the nearest competitor at 260+ methods, and it isn't particularly close. The US state licensing adds a capability that most iGaming PSPs cannot offer at all.
Key Limitation
Settlement speed drags. T+2 to T+7 puts Nuvei behind every competitor on payout timing. Brite settles same-day, AstroPay T+1 to T+2. On $1M monthly, a 5-day settlement lag means roughly $165k floating at any given time. Pricing opacity is the other issue: $500k minimum, 12-month contract, custom rates with no published benchmarks. Operators with tighter budgets will find better economics at NOWPayments.
Recommendation
Choose Nuvei if you process $500k+ monthly across multiple regulated markets and want one provider for gateway, acquiring, routing and payouts. The US state licensing makes it close to unavoidable for large multi-market operators. LATAM-only operations get better value from AstroPay or PayRetailers. Instant settlement needs point to Brite or Trustly.
Pros
- 720+ payment methods through a single integration. Cards, wallets, bank transfers, vouchers, open banking, crypto on/off-ramp. Worldpay covers about 300+, Paysafe 260+, PayRetailers 300+. Building equivalent coverage from specialists would mean four or five separate integrations with separate settlements and reconciliation.
- Platform-vendor partnerships that are actually on the record: an EveryMatrix payments agreement covering the US (2021) and a Gaming Innovation Group tie-up (January 2025, joint press release). The six-connector list this profile used to carry is gone, with no public evidence behind it, and partnership press releases are a weaker signal than a connector in a platform's catalog, but they still beat the nothing most enterprise acquirers can show.
- DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM on the client roster. These three handle some of the highest transaction volumes in US sports betting. Keeping them as clients year after year is a stress test that no sandbox or demo can simulate. Paysafe has 888 and PokerStars. Nuvei's list sits at the top tier by sheer volume.
- US state gambling licenses alongside support for MGA-, UKGC- and Isle of Man-licensed operators. If regulated US sports betting is on your roadmap, the PSP shortlist gets very short. Adyen offers it but at $1M+ minimum. Nuvei's $500k threshold is more accessible.
- AI routing picks optimal processing paths per transaction, reducing declines and routing around downtime automatically. Paysafe has basic orchestration. PayRetailers has simple routing. Nuvei's approach is ML-driven and sits at the enterprise tier of sophistication.
- FX markup of 0.5-1.5%, the most competitive among enterprise PSPs. AstroPay takes 1-1.5%, Paysafe 1-1.5%, Worldpay 1-2%. On $1M monthly with 40% cross-currency volume, even half a percent difference adds up to $24k per year.
Cons
- Settlement takes T+2 to T+7, slower than every other iGaming PSP here. On $1M monthly volume, a 5-day settlement lag means roughly $165k floating that you cannot deploy. Brite settles same-day. AstroPay does T+1 to T+2. For cash-flow-sensitive operators this is a material constraint, not a minor inconvenience.
- $500k minimum monthly volume shuts out most startups and smaller operators outright. AstroPay starts accepting at $100k, NOWPayments has no floor at all. Operators growing toward $500k face a gap where they need Nuvei-level capability but don't yet qualify for it.
- 12-month contract lock-in. AstroPay and NOWPayments operate without lock-in periods. Brite does 6 months. Worldpay and Adyen also run 12+ months, so it's standard at the enterprise tier, but a year-long commitment limits your ability to switch if service deteriorates or better options emerge.
- No published rate card. Every deal is custom, which makes benchmarking impossible without parallel negotiations. AstroPay and NOWPayments both offer clearer upfront rate guidance. Procurement teams who aren't deeply experienced in payment pricing risk overpaying on initial contracts.
- Refund processing runs 3-5 business days. AstroPay handles refunds in 1-3 days. Brite and Trustly process them instantly. Operators running frequent bonuses or promotions with high refund volume will see this show up as player complaints and support ticket load.

Nuvei vs. Alternatives: How It Compares
Similar payment processing solutions
Paysafe matches the 10.0 iGaming Fit score and brings the Skrill/Neteller wallet base (7.8M active wallet users at Paysafe) that Nuvei simply doesn't have. AstroPay covers LATAM at 1-2.5% with faster settlement and lower reserve requirements. PayRetailers does LATAM direct acquiring with 300+ methods. Worldpay handles high-volume European card acquiring with the strongest Trustpilot score among enterprise providers at 4.3/5. Corefy publishes a 0.2-0.7% routing fee with built-in AI orchestration and no contract lock-in, sitting on top of whichever acquirers an operator connects rather than pricing acquiring directly.
When to Choose an Alternative
- Paysafe

- AstroPay
Choose AstroPay if LATAM is your primary market. Faster settlement (T+1-T+2), lower fees (1-2.5%), shorter reserve hold (3 months), no $500k minimum. Player brand recognition in Latin America that Nuvei lacks.
- Worldpay
Choose Worldpay if European card acquiring at scale is the core need. 4.3/5 Trustpilot from 10,144 reviews. Owned by Global Payments with deep UKGC compliance infrastructure.
- PayRetailers
