What the rule actually is in Argentina

Our own reading, not a summary of someone else's

There is no national regulator. Each province and the City of Buenos Aires licenses separately, so multi-province coverage means stacking licences. CABA runs through LOTBA at 25% of GGR with five-year permits extendable once, and its tender has been closed to new entrants since June 2024, leaving eleven live operators. Buenos Aires Province runs through IPLyC on fifteen-year licences, seven issued and four operating. A 5% federal indirect tax sits on top of whatever the province charges. CABA and Cordoba also require biometric identity checks against the national RENAPER database, which makes onboarding heavier than the payment mix alone would suggest. Everything settles in pesos.
