Malaysia licenses no online gambling, so the market runs offshore. Online betting and casino play are illegal for every resident under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 and the Betting Act 1953, and licensed land-based gambling is open only to non-Muslims. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) answers with takedowns: it blocked 1,778 gambling sites and removed 457,562 pieces of gambling content between the start of 2025 and the end of May 2026 under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and the newer Online Safety Act 2025. FPX carries the deposits, and offshore operators reach it through aggregators.
