The rule in Belgium
Our own reading, not a summary of someone else's
Licensed by the Gaming Commission, and every online license has to hang off a land-based one, which caps the operator count structurally. The three regions set the tax and have all landed on 11% of gross margin. Payments are tightly constrained: credit cards are banned for online gambling, and the 2025-26 rules default players to a EUR200 weekly deposit limit that can only be raised after a National Bank credit check. Enforcement today is the Commission's blacklist, which most Belgian ISPs honour; payment blocking is still at the agreement stage with the banking federation Febelfin rather than in force.
