The rule in Slovakia
Our own reading, not a summary of someone else's
An open EU licensing market run by the Office for the Regulation of Gambling (ÚRHH) under the Ministry of Finance, with the modern framework live since March 2019 and no cap on the number of licenses. The entry cost is structural rather than numeric: an international operator has to establish a Slovak branch or subsidiary, which drags the payment stack onshore with it. From 1 January 2026 the updated eKasa regime (Act No. 384/2025 Coll.) requires real-time fiscal reporting on online casino transactions, so the payment integration now has a reporting obligation sitting on top of it.
How money actually moves
The rails players reach for, in the order that matters locally
- TatraPay and bank online-banking buttonsdominant
instant bank transfer
Tatra banka's TatraPay is the recognisable Slovak pay-by-bank button, with ČSOB and the other domestic banks running equivalents. Instant on deposit, slower on the way out.
- SEPA / SEPA Instantmajor
instant bank transfer
Licensed Slovak casinos lean on SEPA, and SEPA Instant settles in seconds where both banks support it; otherwise one to two days.
- Visa / Mastercardmajor
local cards
Standard card acceptance inside the licensed perimeter, acquired through the Slovak entity the license requires.
- Skrill / Neteller / PayPal
e-wallet
Present on licensed cashiers as a convenience layer rather than a primary rail.
Which providers reach these rails
3 of the providers we track carry a recorded entry for this market
Aggregated or indirect
3The rail is reachable, but through an aggregator, a local PSP or a wallet rather than directly.
Evidence grades run from named clients through platform catalogs and industry knowledge down to a provider's own claim. A claim we could not corroborate is still shown, labelled as what it is. See our methodology.
